  • Carnegie Steel Company was one of the most powerful companies in America in this time period.
  • Carnegie: Henry Clay Frick you are now in charge of my factory in Homestead Pennsylvania.
  • Henry Clay Frick started locking his workers out because they started to strike and not work well in the Factory.
  • When the workers started to strike outside the factory Frick had to get help from the Local militia to stop the fight. There were 8,000 militia at the battle.
  • Anarchist Alexander Berkman shot Frick but was unsuccessful in killing him.
  • In the end over 100 of the strikers were arrested. Many of them were arrested for murder.
