  • Today we are going to learn about the scientific method. This method is completed in steps.
  • Today we are going to learn about the scientific method. This is completed in steps.
  • Introduction
  • We have a problem and we want to test it. So first we need to write the question that can be answered with an experiment
  • Supporting Details
  • Oh... Now I remember next we need a hypothesis, which is a prediction of what WE think will happen next or when we conduct our experiment.
  • The next part is to gather your materials- materials are things we need to conduct our experiment
  • After we've gathered our materials we need to plan procedures: steps you use to conduct the investigation
  • Now that we know our procedures we need to conduct the experiment
  • Now while we conduct our investigation we need to take notes, pictures, graphs and also collect data on based what we know
  • Finally, we analyze our data what tells us about our question and if the hypothesis was correct.
  • Now, after analyzing we need to write our conclusion or summary that we can share with anyone. This needs to include if your hypothesis was correct and if it was right with supported evidence from the text.
  • The step by step process known as the scientific method is still used each day in the science world to help solve problems and create solutions.
