  • In France peasants and other low class people had the worst time. They paid all the taxes and got none of the benefits that the upper classes got.
  • While the lower classes were suffering the upper class was living off the lower classes misfortune. They paid little or no taxes where the lower taxes paid very expensive taxes and had to work the hardest.
  • In August 1788 King Louis XVI called the Estates General a gathering of representatives from all the estates for the first time since 1614.  They eventually drew up a Constitution making the rights for all the people equal.
  •  the king did not agree and everyone began to rebel. This is when the revolution began.
  • The revolutionaries stormed the Bastille to gain weapons and power to take over.
  • The king and queen were killed and the revolt continued on .
