  • During Mom and Dads time in Southern Vietnam, they lived a quiet life with their family's and each other. In Vietnam, it is primarily a agricultural nation with a population that is largely Buddhist, 87% ethnic Vietnamese, listen to instrumental music, and wear simple clothing.
  • After Vietnam gained independence in 1954, it left the country divided between the north, and south. In 1965, a deadly war broke loose between them.
  • Time passes
  • Looks like a war is going start.
  • During the war, many people lost their money, homes, and even family to the enemy.
  • Come out! We know you're in there.
  • The deadly war also needed more people participating, therefore people were forced to join the military and risk their lives. People would hide when the military arrives at their doorstep.
  • Shh.
  • With this never ending conflict between the north and south, Mom and Dad had to get out of there as soon as possible and get to safety.
  • We need to leave. This is getting to dangerous.
  • They gathered everyone in their family and talked about where they should go to leave the war, and decided on Canada.
