Pharaoh is starting to get worried because there are too many Hebrews as slaves in Egypt. He thinks that they will overthrow him. He then says that from now on all baby boys that are Hebrew are to be killed at birth. Guards go and tell the nurses.
Here, the mother has just had the baby. She and her eldest daughter built a basket to send their new baby brother down the Nile to get him away from the Nile.
As the mother wept, she was forced by her emotions to let go of the basket and let her new baby born go down the Nile. She said may god be with you my son and then went away. But little did she know he would be in great hands.
The baby in the basket had arrived in a bank where he was safe. The pharaohs daughter had been here bathing that very moment and saw the baby. Once she told one of her maids to go and fetch the basket, she opened it and saw a hebrew baby boy. She felt bad handing him in so she kept him as her own.
