"I wonder what I am going to get in the mail today. I hope it is not junk."
Frederick Douglass was walking outside to get his mail one day.
Douglass continued to walk to go get his mail. As he was walking he noticed a silhouette of a man. He didn't know who this was but he wanted to find out. As he got closer the man started to walk as well, when they met in the middle he knew who it was.
"It is a beautiful day."
Douglass knew it was his friend who had moved away years ago and never said goodbye to him and he was still angry about it.
"Douglass, how are you?"
What are you doing here?
Covey was surprised and scared to see Douglass and when he saw him he got angry. He was upset with Douglass because when he called Douglass never picked up.
"Douglass I thought you moved as well. I was going to see who the neighbor is. I'm moving in next door."
"What. You can't, I'm still mad at you."
Douglass started to yell at Covey and Douglass never let Covey speak. Covey was getting mad he wanted to tell him the he was sorry for what he did. Finally Douglass stopped yelling and Covey was able to speak.
"I can't believe you just left like that without saying goodbye. I missed you. And i was very hurt treating me like that."
Covey fell to his knees and started to cry. He felt so bad that he left like that and wanted to say he was sorry.
I'm so sorry for leaving like that, without saying goodbye. Please forgive me.
Douglass forgave him and they became friends again. He also apologized for yelling at him and not picking up the phone when he called.
