Their family is in the Abnegation factor, so they live in a small house and are only allowed to wear grey. Tris is a bit anxious, because she has no idea what her results for the test will be. This test will tell the people in the book's society where they belong for the rest of their life.

While saving her people, Tris runs into her mom and is shcoked but happy to see her. Tris does everything in her power to save her mom, but the tables turn and her mom takes her life for Tris. A while later her dad ends up doing the same.
Tris gets Four to snap out of his powerful, dangerous trance that Erudite had him under. Together they hack the system and stop all of the mind controlled Dauntless murders. Although this was the solution for the time being, Tris and Four knew they had to get as far away as possible before they were caught.
