  • Scene 1: Thoughts
  • I trained for this for so long, I'm a failure and I'm so embarrassed because everyone can see me throwing up in the middle of the course!
  • Scene 2: Feelings
  • I feel so ashamed of myself! I am so annoyed, why did this have to happen to me!
  • Scene 3: Behaviour and Impact
  • Are you alright Sophie?
  • Does it look like I'm alright! I'm not! Leave me alone.
  • In this, Sophie vomited in the middle of cross country. She trained so hard for it this year so she now thinks she's a failure. She is also very embarrassed because everyone can see her and her vomit!
  • Scene 4: Self Awareness
  • I feel so bad for acting out at Georgia when she was just trying to help me. I shouldn't have done that and if I explained my sad feelings to her, maybe I wouldn't feel so sad now.
  • Sophie feels very ashamed of her self because she trained a lot for cross country and she felt she could do quite well this year. She also doesn't understand why it had to be her, and why it had to happen the year she had trained!
  • Scene 5: Regulation
  • Georgia asked if Sophie was alright and Sophie lashed out at her and told her to go away. This was her actions in the moment because she was angry at that time. This made Georgia feel sad and confused as she was just trying to help Sophie and got yelled at.
  • Scene 6: Repair Relationships
  • Are you alright Sophie?
  • After Sophie lashed out at Georgia, she realised it definitely wasn't the right thing to do and felt very guilty and sorry for doing it. She realised that Georgia was just being nice and trying to help her but in the moment she was angry and didn't realise that. She understands that talking about it to Georgia would've been a much better thing to do which would've also made her feel better and taken some weight off her shoulders. This also made her realise that you need to think before you react because she didn't mean to make Georgia sad but, reacted without thinking.
  • Why did Sophie lash out at me today when I was just trying to help her.
  • Instead of getting angry and blaming herself, Sophie accepted that she cannot change what happened and getting angry about it will just make things worse. Her emotional regulation strategy was to stay calm and think things through before acting and this definitely helped her be more positive and spread positivity to others while managing her mood.
  • I'm so disappointed that I didn't get to finish. I can't do anything about it now though. I might as well cheer on the other competitors and help them to finish because getting upset and angry will make things even worse.
  • In this scene Sophie was calm and had thought about her situation and how she could not change it before lashing out at Georgia. Instead of yelling at Georgia like in scene 3, she talks things through with her because she was in a better mood and headspace, resulting a lot more positivity for everyone.
  • Yes thank you Georgia, I'm just upset that I didn't get to finish cross country. I can't do anything about it now though.
