Storyboard Text

  • I think that allocating appropriate funding can help build a better public education system...
  • and investing in disaster preparedness could reduce the costs of future disasters.
  • That sounds reasonable.
  • If lawmakers chose a long-term fiscal policy that funded programs for the future...
  • then in the long run, cost of disasters would go down and we could have a more educated public.
  • I think we should spend less money on food stamps because people are abusing the system.
  • There are 41 million Americans on food stamps.
  • Less than 1% of those users are being investigated for fraud.
  • I agree the program has its flaws but they overall help countless families
  • As long as it helps people who actually need it I'm okay with it.
  • Harvey cost us as much as $190 Billion and FEMA's budget was only $210 Million.
  • Thats' crazy but what is is fiscal policy?
  • It gets worse. There are rumors of even more budget cuts. This is expected since the TEA expects a $3.5 billion decrease in funding over the next few years.
  • And our education is at risk too. Wow. It is messed up.
  • So the agency that's supposed to help us during a disaster in underfunded...
  • Honestly, No. But I believe that I can start the conversation.
  • I just want people to remember that there are important issues that need to be addresed
  • You really think running for office could change that?
