First the teacher will meet with Ricky's parents without Ricky present discuss his behavior.
The teacher will share spreadsheets of data they have collected on Ricky's behavior during class. Class Dojo analytics will be shown to display trends, compare his behavior to the rest of the class, and to display specific examples of Ricky's behavior.
The teacher will express her goals for Ricky's behavior in class and recommend an action plan to improve his behavior. She will ask Ricky's parents to help be reinforcing the target behaviors at home. Parents can share additional insight.
Once the parents have agreed to an action plan, Ricky will be brought in to have them communicated with him. The teacher and parents will present a united front, and ask Ricky for his agreement in working towards improving his behavior. The rewards and consequences will be shared with him.
At home, Ricky's parents will begin implementing the plan by rewarding good behavior...
And giving conseqences for undesired behavior...
Ricky's teacher will implement the plan in school and track his progress. She will keep his parents informed, and reassess if more steps are needed every three weeks.
