  • The British wanted France's land west of the Appalachian Mountains and east of the Mississippi River. The English really needed money for the war. This is significant because they started to tax the colonists, so the colonists got very mad.
  • THE BOSTON MASSACRE
  • NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION
  •
  • King George (III) started to tax even more things. This is significant becuase this is when the colonists started to protest. This resulted in England getting very mad
  • THE BOSTON TEA PARTY
  • THROW THE TEA!!!
  • King George took more advantage and started taxing things that the colonist need in a everyday life. The Sons of Liberty was formed which play a big role in the major protests. This is significant because they were a big part in the protests an the start of the Revolutionary War.
  • LEXINGTON AND CONCORD
  • They're coming!
  • There was a peaceful protest in front of a government building and when British soldiers shot in the crowd and killed several people. This was another step towards going to war. This is significant because this was a huge step to the revolution because they really had something to fight back against.
  • King George put a tax on tea and colonists were very mad about it. They dressed up as Native Americans and boarded merchant boats and threw crates of tea overboard. King George was not happy and punished the colonists by closing every port - you could not get in or out - until they paid for all the tea. The colonists realized that King George would never treat them well and they started to plan for revolution.
  • About 70 colonists with guns hid in taverns to meet to plan an attack on the British soldiers. One day, when the British soldiers were walking by, the colonists decided to attack. This is significant because it was the official start of the Revolution. Even though the colonists lost, they decided that if they did not keep fighting back, things would stay the same forever.
