Prioritization story board
This emergency room is packed with patients since it is flu season! I am going to need to prioritize the severity of the patients well to give them the care they need.
Call Light going off.
I need pain meds for these symptoms I can't describe! It's a 10 out of 10 and I'm allergic to everything but Dilaudid!!!
All these patients need me right now, but who needs me most?
I'm having severe chest pain and difficulty breathing!
According to Establishing Priorities: NCLEX-RN. (n.d.) I should always prioritize airway, breathing, and cardiac function over anything else in that order! Looks like I better go check on the patient in the left room first! By the way the site also has tons of other info on how to prioritize as a nurse.
