  • Exposition: Act 1 Scene 1
  • If ever you disturb our streets again, Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace!
  • Conflict: Act 1 Scene 5
  • O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!
  • Rising Action: Act 2 Scene 5
  • Tybalt, the kinsman of old Capulet, Hath sent a letter to his father's house. Romeo will Answer it.
  • The feud is introduced in this scene. The quarrel is silenced when the Prince enters, and declares that the death penalty will be put to action the next time this occurs.
  • Climax: Act 3 Scene 1
  • I have been slain!
  • Romeo shall be exiled immediately!
  • The Capulet feast is on. Romeo sees Juliet and is immediately in love. Tybalt hears Romeo's voice and recognizes him; Tybalt is furious.
  • Falling Action: Act 4 Scene 1
  • Take thou this vial, being then in bed, And this distilled liquor drink thou off; When presently through all thy veins shall run A cold and drowsy humour, for no pulse Shall keep his native progress, but surcease: No warmth, no breath, shall testify thou livest
  • Tybalt has sent a letter to the Montague household, challenging Romeo to a duel. (Not shown, but also Romeo and Juliet's marriage arrangement is complete)
  • Conclusion: Act 5 Scene 3
  • Capulet! Montague! See what a scourge is laid upon your hate, That heaven finds means to kill your joys with love. And I for winking at your discords too Have lost a brace of kinsmen. All are punish’d
  • Tybalt (seeking Romeo) comes across Mercutio, who exchanges daring words with him. Romeo enters and Tybalt is trying to provoke him. Mercutio is angered by Romeo's lack of will to fight, so he fights Tybalt himself. Mercutio is slain, Romeo seeks Tybalt for revenge. Tybalt is slain, and Romeo is banished.
  • The Friar suggests that Juliet shall take a potion that willmake her appear dead for 48 hours. this will relieve her from marriage to Paris, and give her the opportunity to leave Verona with Romeo when she wakes up.
  • Paris, Romeo, and Juliet have all been killed. The Friar explains the marriage and their secret plan. Prince Escalus explains how the family feud has ended the lives of these Paris and the star-crossed lovers. From then on, the feud is ended.
