Storyboard Text

  • Darnay being tried for treason in court.
  • Sydney Carton looks like Darnay!
  • The Marquis runs over a child in his carriage.
  • You killed my son!!!
  • The Maquis is stabbed.
  • Oh no! Iv'e been stabbed!
  • This is in the courthouse where Darnay is being tried for treason. During this court case Stryver saves Darnay. Stryver does this by bringing up the fact that Carton and Darnay look very similar to each other. The judge, Carton, and Darney are suprised when Stryver brings this up. This moment is important because Darnay is saved when the court cannot come up with a solution to the case.
  • Darnay is put in jail.
  • No!
  • Please let me out! I'm innocent!
  • This is when the Marquis runs over a child. This happens because Marquis was fleeing a party and was going very fast. The boy's father is distraught so the Marquis gives him a coin. The Marquis thinks it is not his fault. This scene shows the cruelty and lack of sympathy the Marquis has.
  • Madame Defarge knitting.
  • Hmmm, I must finish knitting the names of the people we will kill.
  • The night after Darnay visited the Marquis, he was stabbed and killed. The man who stabbed him was Gaspard. Gaspard was the father of the boy who was run over by the Marquis' carriage. Gaspard was angered by the Marquis' actions, pushing him to murder the Marquis. The Marquis' home is later burned down.
  • Darnay asking for Dr. Manette's approval to marry Lucie.
  • Can I marry Lucie?
  • Yes, if you truly love her.
  • Darnay travels to France. On his journey he is stopped by officials and questioned because he is part of the aristocracy. Darnay is eventually stopped and put into jail. The officials do not know that he is on their side so they don't let him out. of jail. Darnay and Carton switch places before Darnay's execution.
  • Madame Defarge is a leader of the French revolution. Madame Defarge inscribes names of the people they want to kill into her knitting. Most of the names are people of the aristocracy. Doing this also benefits them because it is secretive. This is because people wouldn't expect for writing to be incsribed in her knitting.
  • Darnay falls in love with Lucie in England. He goes to the Mannette's house to talk with Dr. Manette. He asks Dr. Manette to vouch for Darnay's love if Lucie ever were to ask and Dr. Manette agrees. Dr. Manette has a relapse and Lucie finds him working at his shoemaker's bench. This is most likely because Dr. Manette is scared he will lose Lucie if her and Darnay marry.
