No, you did not listen to us, and we are now the National Assembly
Let us in, you are part of the estates general
For the liberty of France!
Pre-Revolutionary france was a place ruled by social class that was organized into something called the estates general. There were three main classes, the first class was the rich church officials, the second was the nobles, and the third was everybody else. Another big part of this era was that the first and second classes greatly taxed and out voted the third.
If you speak out against our republic, you will get to meet my little friend the guillotine
The tennis court oath is what took place when the third class left the estates general and locked themselves in a tennis court so that they could make the National Assembly. This new group represented 80% of France, an it contained a new constitution along with the rights of man. This was the new group that the rebellion started off from.
I'm so happy I took over France, because without my leadership and battle skills, there is no way this empire could have grown the way it did.
Another huge part of Frances revolutionary history is that to start the war, the rebels attacked a fortified french structure called a Bastille to prove that they were a force to be reckoned with. This day has h\forever been know as Bastille day, and it resembles the beginning of the french victory over the olden French government.
The reign of terror was probably the most gruesome and horrific part of the whole revolution. This was where the leader at the time Robespierre put a law into place where it was punishable by death if you spoke out against the French republic. This bad time did eventually end, and this happened when Robespierre was killed.
Napoleon's Conquest was when the French general took over the French government and instituted new rule. Under his rule France fought in many great battles that they usually won, thanks to Napoleon's amazing battle strategies. And thanks to these conquests Frances Empire got a lot bigger during this time.
