  • William Harvey
  • Hello I'm William Harvey. I changed the way people look at medicine.
  • Issac Newton
  • Hi, I'm Issac Newton. Science's understanding of gravity was pioneered by me.
  • Francis Bacon
  • Hello, I'm Francis Bacon. I created a new idea on how we come to conclusions.
  • William Harvey changed the way we look at how blood flows and the the types of fluids we have in our body. Despite constant ridicule from people, Harvey's students passed down his research, and we have adopted Harvey's discoveries as truth today. This is very important because now today we could have believed past theories that humans had different types of liquids. Harvey's discoveries allow us to see the truth that we only have blood as our main liquid.
  • Johannes Kepler
  • Issac newton was a great scientist that is the backbone of the understanding of motion. His three laws of motion transformed the world's understanding of motion. His laws help us humans know how much force is needed to get something of the ground based on the weight of the object. Before Issac newton, no one knew why objects came back to the ground when they were in the air.
  • Major Inventions
  • Hi I'm Evangelista Torricelli, and I made the first barometer.
  • Bacon's "inductive reasoning" idea was to come to a conclusion based on data. His outlook on coming to conclusions was if you had more data to support a claim, it was more likely that this claim was true. This idea competed with Aristotle's "deductive reasoning." Aristotle's idea ended with certainty and Bacon's idea ended with probability. With Bacon's "inductive reasoning" we now know that not all outcomes are certain, and that there are probable outcomes.
  • Major Inventions
  • Hi, I'm Galileo, and I made the first version of the thermometer.
  • Johannes Kepler was a great astronomer who made major discoveries in astronomy such as how planets do not move in perfect circles, they move in ellipses. Astronomers still follow these discoveries made by Kepler. Johannes Kepler also supported the Heliocentric theory that the Sun is the center of the universe. He actually expanded on Copernicus's work, and Kepler confirmed that Copernis's theory was true.
  • Hi, I'm Johannes Kepler. I have made major discoveries in the area of astronomy.
  • Hi, I'm a Dutch lens maker, and I made the first microscope.
  • There were major inventions that took place during the Scientific Revolution including the barometer and the microscope. Evangelista Torricelli had created the barometer which has now allowed people to view the atmospheric pressure. Dutch lens makers revolutionized science by allowing scientists to discover the little things that the naked eye cannot see.
  • In the early 1700's, Galileo made the first thermometer. The discovery of the thermometer did allow the world to calculate the temperature. Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit did improve the thermometer, and he created his own form of degrees.
