  • Waxing Crescent
  • The tides are the rising and lowering of water in certain parts of the world.
  • An eclipse is caused when the sun and earth and the moon are perfectly lined up.
  • First Quarter
  • The moon moving in and out of the atmosphere creates a gravitational pull on water causing the tidal changes.
  • 3rd Quarter
  • A full moon cycle will take one month to happen so the phases happen once a month.
  • Eclipses don't happen every month because the rotation of the earth is faster than the moon and the angle of the earth changes.
  • Waxing Gibbous
  • Spring tides happen when the sun, earth, and moon are parallel. Neap tides happen when the sun and moon are at a right angle to the earth.
  • Waning Gibbous
