Solar eclipses and lunar eclipses happen in a full moon.
The tides are the rising and lowering of water in certain parts of the world.
An eclipse is caused when the sun and earth and the moon are perfectly lined up.
The moon moving in and out of the atmosphere creates a gravitational pull on water causing the tidal changes.
A full moon cycle will take one month to happen so the phases happen once a month.
Eclipses don't happen every month because the rotation of the earth is faster than the moon and the angle of the earth changes.
Spring tides happen when the sun, earth, and moon are parallel. Neap tides happen when the sun and moon are at a right angle to the earth.
