I'm not gonna be mad at you forever, but you didn't let me tell my side of the story before you got made at me. You said to only use bad words and fight if there is extreme provocation, and Francis was teasing me.
Alright, then what's your side of the story?
Scout do you still hate me? I didn't think you would hold this against me like this. You knew you had that coming.
The reason I punched Francis is because he kept calling Atticus a negro-lover. He also said that Atticus is ruining the family.
Just promise me you won't tell Atticus about this. He asked me not to get mad over anything people say about him.
Oh, wait until I get my hands on that boy. Alexandra needs to know about this.
Later that Night
I realize how bad the trial is going to be Jack. Its a negro's word verses the Ewell's. I was hoping that I would never have to do a case like this, but John Taylor told me this one was mine. I doubt the jury will find him not guilty, but we still have a good chance of an appeal. I just hope that Jem and Scout come to me with their questions and don't listen to the town. Everyone goes crazy when anything that has to do with a negro happens.
