  • Ratification is defined as formal approval.  When the founding fathers started to form the new government for the United States of America, they released quite a documents and notices the people needed to know.  these documents needed the majorities'  agreement before they could be published.
  • Throughout US there have been many suffrage movements. Quite a few groups of people wanted the rights to vote. Groups of people such as Women, and African-Americans.
  • A Constitution is a set of basic principles that determine the powers and duties of a government.  As a new country starting out, a constitution was needed. Although the government was going to be a democracy, the government would have some power. Those powers would be what was in the constitution.
