  • Hi John, you look sad, what is wrong with you today?
  • Hi Sipho, sorry to disturb.we as employees feel we deserve an increase this year. the food prices have gone up, same as petrol, at this moment we feel like what we are earning is not enough to sastain us.
  • what Zolani is saying its true, so you as our shop steward we ask you to please speak to management about this issue and that we also need new work uniforms that have been promised.

  • as per call i made, our workers are not happy with their salaries, and i also have to admit their complaints are valid, i too am suffering with salary i'm getting, food prices and Petrol has increased drastically over 5 years.
  • I totaly agree, an increase is long over due, if the employer does not attend our demands we will have to go on a national strike and freeze all production.
  • I have to emphased that our main concerns are wages, Benefits, conditions of employment, job security, employment practices, training and heath and safety of all employees
  • a Meeting has been set between Union and the Employer, we will demand a 15% increase if they dont agree we will settle for 11%
  • as the chairperson I welcome you all to our monthly meeting
  • in this seen we see 5 employees discussing about the increase in wages and Salaries. The cost of Living has become very expensive, workers feel that a need for an increament is neccessary its been two year now the employer has been avoiding the topic.
  • after our pre-negotiations we have revised the increase to 11% that include adjustement in Housing allowances,
  • I hear you all, but we as the ABC company can only afford to increase the Salaries and Wages by 5% nothing more than that.
  • we will have to come back tomorow 25 April 2021 with the intention of continuing the negotiation hopefully we will find amicable solution.
  • ABC LTD
  • so we must sit hear and listen to you belittle us. if we cant agree on the 11% then we have no other option but to go on strike.
  • Zolani and Fadilaah are speaking with Sipho on behalf of all employees. Sipho is the shop steward.
  • in this scene: there a Local meeting taking place. the Shop steward is addreessing the issue of ABC employees. This is a meeting of Trade Unions:according to S23 of the LRA defines a Trade Union as an association of employees, whose purpose is to regulate relations between the employees and employers.
  • "No other option but to strike"in this seen the employers are negotiatin in "bad faith" they have reduced the 15% proposed to 5% which made the meeting to be adjorned as the federation could not accept anything less than 11%. the negotiations have hit a deadlock another meeting has been sheduled for tomorow to find amicable solution or prepare for strike.
