Storyboard Text

  • Waves began to roll and crash into the ship. The sea became wilder, more turbulent, until the ship began rocking so violently that the prince had to clutch a rail near the edge of the deck, and the waves could cover the entire ship. Eventually, the planks of the ship snapped and water began rushing through.
  • The ship tipped on its side, and the prince’s hands slipped from the rail, and he fell, with a splash, into the deep, dark ocean, where he lost consciousness.
  • The prince felt a warmth on his face, and he awoke, the sun’s rays descending upon him like falling ribbons. He was damp and dripping with water, and lay on a shore near a temple. A flock of people were surrounding him, with worried expressions on their faces. The prince began to sit up, and the crowd’s concern melted into smiles of relief.
  • That I am glad to hear.
  • Is the crew all right?
  • Yes.
  • Come with me.
  • Who might you be? Where are you from?
  • The next day, the prince had recovered enough to take an excursion through a wood and, eventually, he arrived at the shore that he woke up on. There he found a girl, swathed in her own long hair, sitting at the edge of the sea, her legs in the water. The prince walked up to her, and she turned quickly; the prince noticed that her hair was soaking.
  • The girl did not say anything; she simply stared at him with large, unblinking eyes.
  • Are you all right?
  • The girl stood up, and gracefully treaded out of the sea. Every time she took a step, she winced, as if she was in pain.
  • The girl nodded in reply.
