after john cabot got back from finding the waters of newfoundland he reported about all of the fish and goods he found. and word spread quickly.
Britan didnt want the "new found land" for colonies because of the harsh weather, so all they did with it was fish.
that year they came home before the harsh winters arrived the fishing business started to grow so much that the king granted them permission to build fishing villages on the coast. but the fishing villages soon formed into colonies
during the first winter, of the first 27 men who came 7 of them lived. the rest of them died of scurvy.
after that winter england made the first 13 colonies. and they grew very fast.
but while all this was happening,they left the first nations with nowhere to live.
