  • The Klondike Gold Rush!
  • On August 16, 1896 in what is now the Yukon, some locals unearthed gold in many different rivers (specifically the Yukon River).
  • Word spread like wildfire about the gold all the way to the North Pacific.
  • GOLD!?
  • Before you'd know it, a herd of prospecters from America stampeded all the way to the Yukon 
  • Many Prospectors took different routes through Southeast Alaska and were provided with one years supply of food under the enforcement of Canada.
  • I'm Cold.
  • What do you mean?
  • After a treacherous hike to the gold areas (which wasn't until Summer), The Prospectors found mining very difficult and many left with nothing.
  • no.. gold... NO GOLD!
