Storyboard Text

  • Michael grew up in London after the war with his mum and often visited his dad’s Aunties in Folkestone. His dad (a spitfire pilot) had died in the war.
  • Thanks, Auntie Pish
  • This is for you Michael. Auntie Snowdrop would’ve wanted you to have this
  • Mum, let's take Jasper home!
  • Mm, I suppose we must as Auntie Pish can’t take care of him anymore. But only for 3 weeks
  • Yippee !!
  • After Auntie Snowdrop dies and Auntie Pish moves to a care home, Michael and his mum help out.
  • Oops!
  • JASPER!! Look what you have done. You have broken the photo frame of my dad which Auntie gave me.
  • What's this? Its a notebook stuck behind the photo. 'Who i am, What I’ve done, And who you are’ By Martha Mahoney (Auntie Snowdrop). For Michael, so he’ll know.
  • Now Michael understood what Auntie Snowdrop meant when she said ‘Look through the photo and you’ll find out who your Papa really was.'
  • Basildon Bond
  • Michael discovers that Auntie Snowdrop was actually his Papa’s mother and his grandfather was a brave war hero called Leroy, whose family originated from Barbados. Leroy died trying to save others (along with his dog, Jasper) but was never awarded a medal due to his race.
  • "I’m going back to save a third one."
  • Wherever Jasper stops, that’s where we'll do it.
  • Later in life, Michael and his granddaughter decide to put things right by burying a medal for Leroy where he fell.
