  •  And now your truck has been started safely. However, it is equally important that you shut down your truck properly too. Here's how...
  • Shutting down the truck correctly
  • 1. The truck should be brought to a safe stop by applying the service brake foot pedal. [shot of truck stopping and brake being pressed] 2. Ensure the park brake is applied. Push the button to activate. {close up of this being performed and all the next bullets too...] 3. Put the transmission lever into neutral position. 4. The body control lever should also be in neutral position. 5. Turn the ignition key to position 1. 6. Wait for the dash to complete the self check. The needles will come to a stop once complete. 7. Turn the key to 'Off' (position 0) 8. Switch the master switch to 'off' position. The electrical power will remain on for 1 minute.

  • If you have shut down the machine properly then, when you start it, the park brake icon will be in a solid state [close up of indicator]. However, if the park brake icon is flashing [shot of icon flashing] then this indicates that the machine was shutdown incorrectly, without manual application of the park brake button. You now must re-apply the park brake button to return the park brake icon  to a solid state, before you can start up the truck.

  • And now you have shut down your truck safely and correctly. However, did you know that the Terex Trucks TA300  has an extra automatic safety feature to prevent uncontrolled movement of the truck?  If you incorrectly shut down your truck by not pressing the park brake button,  the truck's park brake will still automatically apply. When you re-start the truck, the park brake will remain engaged and no truck movement will be permitted until you provide a physical action that proves you are in control of the truck, for example, pressing on the service brakes [cut to shot of this?]. This compliant feature ensures your truck won't move unless you are in control.  This ensures the safety of everyone working around the truck.

  • I hope this video has helped to clearly explain how to correctly startup and shut down your Terex trucks TA300 hauler. By following this procedure, you'll get the most out of your machine. Thanks for watching.
  • Scott wraps up the video
  • You must always read and refer to the truck's operator manual. This video has been produced to complement the manual and must not be used as a substitute. Terex Trucks can take no responsibility for a truck being operated without adherence to the correct operator manual.
