  • Terex Trucks articulated haulers are designed to give you low total cost of ownership. But they will only do this if they are maintained and operated the way they were designed to be. In this video, I'm going to show you how to correctly start and shut down your hauler to minimise unscheduled downtime and increase your profitability.
  • Pre-start checks
  • "Firstly, it is vital that you start the truck in the safest way possible - for yourself and for those around you on site. This will also ensure you get the most out of your machine. To do this, you should perform the following pre-start checks..."
  • Open with Terex Trucks logo and title

  • Shot opens with Scott standing next to truck and talking to the camera.

  • Shot of Scott standing alongside truck. Gives a 'come with me" waving motion at the end to lead into pre-start checks

  • To ensure optimum performance, you should walk around the truck and, check for any leaks. This is because...[insert text from Scott]. Next, check the tyre condition to ensure...[insert text from Scott].Then, make sure your oil levels are at.....[go on to mention all pre-start checks. [Get text from Scott]. Scott then faces the camera and says: "To safely start up the TA300, the following procedure must be followed" and then we can cut to close-ups of each of the actions being performed/ gauges being displayed etc along with supportive text on screen and a short voiceover from Scott for each point:
  • Scott walks round truck pointing out the pre-checks that must take place and explaining why.
  • 1. Switch Master Switch to ON position [Scott performs action] 2. Ensure there are NO personnel in area around truck  [Scott looks around, checks camera/ mirrror etc]  3. Ensure park brake is applied. Push button to activate [Scott performs action]  4. Ensure body control lever is in neutral position [Scott performs action]   5. Ensure transmission lever is in neutral position [close up of lever being moved]  6. Enter ignition key and turn to position 1. Wait 3-5 secs. Move key to position 2. [Scott performs actions]
  • Voiceover and supporting text displayed for each action
  • 7. Wait for dash to complete self check. Needles will come to a stop once complete. 8. Ensure transmission warning light is off (Do not start if activated) 9. Ensure engine warning light is off (do not start if activated) 10. Press the brake pedal 11. Beep horn twice to indicate engine start 12. Turn key to position 3 momentarily. Release the key as the engine starts.
