Anne's diary. "Monday, the sixth of July, nineteen forty-two." Nineteen forty-two. Is it possible, Meip?.... Only three years ago.
They forced Father out of his business. We had to wear yellow stars. I had to turn in my bike.
There are too many Green Police on the streets, we have to take the long way around.
It is November 1945. Mr. Frank and Meip are revisiting the annex. Mr.Frank is overwhelmed and breaks down crying when he sees a white glove on the floor. He tells Meip to burn any files in the annex. Meip finds a book......Anne's diary. She hands it to Mr. Frank, he opens it and begins reading.
What´s your cats name?
It is July, 1942. This is Anne's first diary entry, the one that Mr. Frank was reading. She describes who she is. She also writes what she had to do before going into hiding. She tells the readers that she did not know where her family was going into hiding. She says that she had to put on layers and laers of clothes to not look suspicious.
It is still July 1942, the Franks, along with Meip and Mr. Kraler, are heading to the annex. On the way, they stop by the Van Daans house to pick them up and take them to the annex as well. They all wear clothes under their other clothes to look nornal, not suspicious.
It is the same day, July 14, 1942. the Franks and Van Daans are inspecting the annex. they are figuring out all of the rules and which room belongs to who. Peter and Anne speak to each other for the first time. They bond over Peter's cat, Mouschi.
Mr. Frank tells Anne to open a box that was laying on the couch. Anne retrieves the box and opens it. Inside the box were some of Anne's movie star photos and a empty paged book. She was so excited to have her own diary that she ran towards the door leading to the office downstairs. Luckily, Mr. Frank quickly stopped her before she reached the door.
I'm going to get a pencil!
Anne is writing in her diary yet again. She is writing about how it is like going in to hiding. She describes that she does not yet know very well how it is like because she is just beginning. She tries her best to explain her experience so far.
I only know it's funny never to be able to go outdoors...never to breathe fresh air...never to run and shout and jump.
