Storyboard Text

  • There was a king who had three daughter. One daughter, Psyche, was so beautiful that Aphrodite began to get jealous. She ordered her son Eros to scratch Psyche with an arrow in her sleep so she would fall in love with something ugly.
  • Eros flew to Psyches castle one night to bide by his mothers wishes. But as he scratched her shoulder, Psyche woke up and looked directly at him. Eros couldn't help but fall in love with her. When he told his mother, she was furious. She cursed Psyche and surrounded her by thorns. Eros was very upset with Aphrodite so he refused to shoot arrows to make people fall in love. Without love, Aphrodites temple was empty. Finally, she gave in and accepted Psyce and Eros to be together.
  • Although love was brought to the world again, Psyche had still not been courted. So the queen took her to the oracle, who told them that Psyche was not meant for mortal man and to take her to the mountain and say farewell. As she waited on the mountain in her bridal gown, Zephyrus the west wind came to take her home.
  • Psyche loved her husband and her home, and she was happier than she had ever been. But she wanted to see her husband, for he kept himself in the dark every night he visited. One day, Psyche left an unlit n oil lamp by their bed, and while he slept that night, she lit it to see his face. But some of the oil must've dripped on his skin, and he woke with a start. He doused the light at once and left.
  • After he left, all the good things in her life vanished; her home, the courtyard. Instead, she was surrounded by trees, trees, and more trees. She roamed the woods, forever searching
  • Some say Eros turned her into an owl or she was turned into a bat that haunts old ruins and see's only by night. Others say that her husband finally forgave her and took her back to Olympus where she helps him unite young lovers. And when mother or sister visit the groom and talks about looks she has the west wind whipped them away an, invisible, she whispers to them, "None but lovers know the secret of love, believing is seeing. :
