  • This comic represents the practical everyday things the Accessible Oceanside Association, AOA, helps with. The elderly man is feeling sick and is in need of help
  • But how do I get there I can't drive
  • Hey, there's aqua swimming for people with mobility issues! Awesome!
  • The man is having a hard time moving and will not make it far, but with the correct measures in place, he should be fine, like handicap parking. The AOA and partners work with services to make sure these measures are in place
  • Cool, a bus for people in wheelchairs
  • Having a railing for support and wheelchairs available is essential at a hospital to ensure a patients safety, especially those movement impaired. The AOA makes sure to advise public places like this to make sure the people's needs are met.

  • AOA doesn't just consult with services, but also with the public, giving them ideas of what activities are out there for them
  • The AOA works the city of Parksville to make sure special transportation is set up for those with compromised mobility
