  • When Lily saw bees flying in her room. She went to get T. Ray, her father, but when he got there, there was no bees. He told her, " You wake me up again, I'll get out the Martha Whites." Lily decide to catch any bees to show T. Ray that she wan't lying.
  • Climax
  • After Rosaleen wrote her name on top of the three men's shoes, they called the police when she didn't cleaned it off. Rosaleen and Lily now are in jail.
  • Falling Action
  • After escaping from jail, Lily and Rosaleen are dropped off 3 miles from Tiburon, SC. Lily is angry because Rosaleen didn't apologized. But in the morning everything settles back as they were, being friends.
  • Resolution
  • May commits suicide after finding out Zach is in jail. August found May in the river with a rock on top of her. August calls out her sister, June, to come and help her.
  • Lily finally tell August why she is here. August tells Lily that her mother did live with her and she did leave Lily when she was young, but came back for her the day she died.
  • Lily stays with August after her dad leaves, she "stood in the driveway looking back. And there they were, all these mothers, more mothers than any eight girls off the street."
