Oh boy! Looks like someone had a rough day at school.
Marissa, a first grader in Mrs. Anthony's class, was having a very hard time reading her favorite book, Curious George at School.
I LOVE TO READ! I can help teach you!
While her teacher and her classmates were being so supportive and encouraging, Marissa couldn't help but feeling so badly about herself. She was afraid she would never read as well as her friends.
Superhero Reader Lesson #1: Pointer Power
Marissa went home from school that day feeling upset and discouraged, wanting to give up reading forever.
Superhero Reader Lesson #2: First Letter Power
That night, Marissa dreamt of a superhero named Super Reader Peter. She shared her worries with him that she’s afraid of being made fun of by her friends because she isn’t as good of a reader as they are.
Super Reader Peter worked hard to teach Marissa how to activate her Super Reader powers that she already had inside of her.
Marissa was proving to be such an excellent student! Super Reader Peter taught her another Super Reader power.
