Storyboard Text

  • Water is the universal solvent.
  • Water is polar which means there is an unequal distribution of electrons.
  • This important because water carriers these nutrients to wherever it goes.
  • When water freezers it is less dense than liquid.
  • Water expands when it freezes.
  • This is important because it allows for different organisms to live during the winter months because lakes are insulated.
  • When it freezes, it expands: the molecules line up to form a very ‘open’ crystalline structure that is less dense than liquid water.
  • Water has a high specific heat which means it takes a while for it to turn into water vapor
  • This is important because it means we still have an ocean and it isn't all evaporated
  • Water absorbs energy when it evaporated which means its an endothermic reaction.
  • Its important because it allows it to cause the water cycle and water is around the globe
  • Water is cohesive and has surface tension which means it wants to stay together
  • Insects can walk on water because of surface tension
  • One example could be how the ocean currents during la nina bring nutrients to the surface and more fish thrive.
  • Water is the universal solvent which allows nutrients to flow to bring life for survival.
