Here's the earth, nothing moving and nothing growing. Until one day the Rainbow woke up from her slumber and came out from the ground.
She traveled far and wide and eventually grew tired then curled up and slept. When she was travelling her body left winding tracks.
She then called out to the frogs who came out but slowly as their bellies were filled with water which they stored in their sleep. She then tickled their bellies and when the frogs laughed water had run all over earth to fill the tracks of her wanderings.
With the water from the frogs, grass and trees sprung up. All of the animals awoke and followed the rainbow serpent across the land. They lived in harmony, each lived and gathered food with their own tribe.
The Rainbow Serpent made laws that they were all to obey, but some rebelled. So the Rainbow Serpent said, "Those who keep my laws will be rewarded; I shall give them human form. Those who break my laws will be punished and turned into stone, never to walk earth again."
The lawbreakers became stone and turned to mountains and hills, but those who followed the law turned into humans.
