  • The Ordinary World
  • Call to Adventure
  • Will you come and help us fight in the Trojan War?
  • On the one hand I could stay with my wonderful wife and newborn son and continue ruling my kingdom...
  • Refusal
  • And on the other I could go fight in the Trojan war and possibly die.
  • King Odysseus is at his home in Ithaca, with his wife Penelope and his newborn son, Telemachus.
  • Mentor/ Helper/ Assistance
  • I'm young again!
  • Odysseus is asked to come and help fight in the trojan war.
  • Cross the Threshold/ Departure 
  • At first Odysseus hesitates to go and fight because he has responsibilities with ruling a kingdom, and he also doesn't want to leave his wonderful wife and newborn son.
  • Test/ Allies/ Enemies/ Trials
  • Odysseus gets help from time to time from the goddess of wisdom, Athena. She doesn't interfere directly but her presence does help him reach is destination.
  • Odysseus leaves the Trojan war and starts his treachurous journy back home.
  • Odysseus faces many threats but also makes allies and friends along the way. Some of the treats were a man eating Cyclops named Polyphemus, Circe, and Charybdis, and most of his friends died.
