The Story begins with Josephine and Richards breaking the news of Mr. Mallard's death in the train accident.Louise start to cry and runs away to her room locking the door.
After Louise hears the news of her husband she runs to her room and sobs while staring out the window. She realizes how beautiful the world outside really is.
