  • Long Term Causes of French Revolution
  • This is lame!!!
  • Estates General
  • This isn't fair.
  • We're fine with this.
  • Tennis Court Oath
  • Long term causes of the French Revolution included a wide social and economic gap between the third estate and the first and second estate, unfair taxes, growing ambitions of the middle class to gain higher social status, the influence of enlightenment ideas, and Louis XV and XVI' s political inaptitude.
  • Storming of the Bastille
  • I've got a lot of guns but I am unable to use them.
  • The Estates General was the legislative body of France. Each estate counted it's votes to make one big vote that was used to decide on something. All the estates only got one vote. This system is bad because the third estate had significantly more people than the first and second. That meant that the minority had the same amount of votes as the majority.
  • The Beginning of the French Revolution
  • This is justice.
  • King Louis XVI called the Estates General so that they could make a change in France. However, the third estate decided that because they were so large, they would make themselves the national assembly, representing the people of France. When they were locked out of their meeting place, they moved to a nearby tennis court and swore to "never separate and to meet wherever the circumstances might require until we have established a sound and just constitution."
  • In Paris, news of the chance of a revolution spread. The commoners peasant of Paris were motivated. They got together a lot of guns and other weapons. They wanted some gun poweder and they thought there was gun powder in the Bastille so they tried to raid it.
  • The third estate went crazy with revolutionary flare. They were motivated by the storming of the Bastille and the national assembly. They killed a lot of guys and posted their heads on pikes.
