...And so on his hunt for Medusa, Perseus met his half-sister, the goddess Athena, and his half-brother, the god Hermes. Athena gave him a shield and Hermes gave him a pair of winged sandals to help Perseus fight Medusa.
Meanwhile, in kingdom of Aethiopia, the king and Queen threw a party, boasting that their daughter was even more beautiful than the goddess Juno and the Nerieds, Poseidon's companions. As punishment Poseidon said he would send a sea monster to destroy the kingdom unless they made a sacrifice. ..their beautiful daughter Andromeda.
Back in the cave, Perseus kills Medusa and and places her head into a bag, because her stare turns anything that makes eye contact with her to stone.
On the way home, Perseus notices a statue chained to a rock. Upon closer observation he realizes it is a gorgeous young woman who is about to be eaten by a giant sea serpent!
Perseus uses Medusa's head to turn the sea monster to stone and rescues Andromeda.
And so after Andromeda's rescue, Perseus and Andromeda fell in love and her parents agreed that they should get married. Perseus rescued his mother, defeated an evil gorgon and a dangerous sea serpent , and fell in love! AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!
