One year after Jefferson's execution...
Hello class, my name is Mr. Wiggins. I am going to start off the year by sharing a story with all of you.
It's about a friend of mine, and how I taught him a very important lesson.
What kind of story Mr. Wiggins?
He was accused of a crime he did not commit. When this happened, he thought very low of himself as a human being. His aunt wanted to make sure that he died a man, not anything less. Knowing I was a teacher, she asked for my help.
I taught him that he was more than the hog that people were describing him as. I helped him realize his self-worth and the importance of pride and dignity, even if there is not much hope.
It's not true, what they're saying...
So class, the lesson I am trying to teach today is to always remember your self-worth. Try to acknowledge the importance of pride and dignity no matter what.
Now, it's time to get back to writing... Who did their homework?
