English 1 Storyboard on Strawberry Spring

Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • Rising Actions
  • The story "Strawberry Spring" by Stephen King takes place in New England at New Sharon Teachers' College on March 16, 1968. It also rains as the snow begins to melt and is quite dark outside.
  • Climax
  • The conflict begins when John Dancey screams after finding a girl dead. The girl's name was Gale Cerman and she had been found in the parking lot of the Animal Sciences department of the college. This begins the conflict because after she was found, many more people were found dead at later dates yet no one could find the murderer.
  • Falling Actions
  • Some of the rising actions that lead to the climax is when Gale's body is found and suddenly Carl Amalara was attacked when there was no proof he killed her. Another rising action was when Amalara was put in the newspaper when nothing was confirmed that he had killed her.
  • Resolution
  • The climax of the story is when Carl Amalara was released from prison because he didn't kill Gale Cerman. This is the climax because now that Amalara is innocent and didn't kill the next girl because he was held in prison when she died, they needed to find the person that really killed everyone.
  • A third girl was killed and police did not look for the person who killed her and a boy fainted in the parking lot which was mistaken as a death. Also, the days began to pass and another girl was killed. Spring break came a week early and then the weather dropped as April came. The main character got married years after he graduated and had a kid.
  • The narrator describes that Strawberry Spring is back after many years and that his wife was upset with him and wanted to know where he was the night of the new murder although he doesn't remember. All he remembers is driving home. The resolution would then be that the narrator is the serial killer and he doesn't remember killing the innocent women.
