The causes of the Cold War
This storyboard does not have a description.
Today I am going to talk about the causes of the Cold War.
Causes of Cold War: • USSR's fear of America's atomic bomb •Truman's strong dislike for Stalin •America's fear of communist attack •America's refusal to share nuclear secrets
Now there were two views to the Cold War, Russian and American.
American View Stalin didn't keep some agreement he had made with the Western Allies which was about holding free elections after the war. Of course this scared the West because they believed that Stalin would take over the world by force.
Russian View The Americans didn't tell Stalin about the Manhattan Project. Since the bombs were successful on Japan, the USA didn't want to share that technology with USSR. This scared the Russians because they thought that USA might try to start a new war, against Russia using the A-bombs.
