  • 3 big goals for the US
  •  The compromise of 1850 was a package of bills passed by the US congress which defused a confrontation between slave and free states acquired during the Mexican-American war. It was the people's decision to see if the states will become a free or slave state.
  •  After the end of much bloodshed and war, the emancipation proclamation was an order by the US that all men are to be freed from slavery from both North and South.
  • The goals of reconstruction for the US was to admit the southern states back to the union, rebuild the southern economy, and lastly, support former slaves in their new freedom. It was a big goal, so big in fact that there were 3 plans from 3 different men with 3 very different views.
