Storyboard Text

  • This is important because it shows that Gatsby will do anything to get his dream girl. He's waited five years to get her and he is almost loosing his mind trying to be apart of her East Egg culture. This will forshadow the future and risk of Gatsby and Daisy's relationship.
  • Gatsby Meets Daisy Again
  • This character trait of Gatsby is his eagerness to impress Daisy (appearance VS reality).
  • "Gatsby was in a white flannel suit, silver shirt, and gold-covered tie for Daisy" (Fitzgerald 84).
  • Gatsby's Hopeful Saying
  • This is important because it shows that Gatsby's idealism is soon to get the best of him. Nick was right when he told Gatsby you can't repeat the past because you can't fix what has been broken. Gatsby and Daisy relationship has been over for a long time and it is foolish of Gatsby that he thinks he can fix it now.
  • This character trait of Gatsby is his idealism to have a life with Daisy.
  • "Can't repeat the past? Why of course you can" (Fitzgerald 110).
  • Gatsby Shares His Idealism
  • This is important because it reveals the idealism Gatsby has been keeping from Daisy these last 5 years. He's always longed to have a wife like Daisy and get her away from her cheating husband, Tom. In Gatsby's mind, his American Dream isn't complete without Daisy.
  • "Your wife never loved you, she loves me" (Fitzgerald 130).
  • This character trait of Gatsby is his relentlessness towards the American Dream.
