Siddhartha is by the lake when he comes across music and a lady with a bowl of rice which he eats. He realizes that there is a middle path between luxurious lifestyle and extreme suffering. The ascetics see him eat the rice and are disappointed in him since they taught him to fast nearly to stravation.
Siddhartha settles under the Bodhi tree where he continues to meditate but is interrupted by the destructor, Mara, who attacks him with an army. Mara challenges Siddhartha to try to make him not reach enlightenment but, Siddhartha did not give in. The earth is furious with Mara and he then disappears.
As the morning star rose in the sky, Siddhartha realizes that he discovers enlightenment and will continue to teach others the way.
