Storyboard Text

  • Jordyn Wieber was four when she started gymnastics. She got hand picked by John Geddert to his Silverstars program.
  • She practiced gymnastics and took it seriously and won numerous competitions. By age ten she qualified to level ten in the Junior Olympic.
  • Wieber attended the American Cup in Chicago, Illinois. She won first in all-around and an injury prevented her from attending the Visa Championships. 
  • On March 5, 2011 Jordyn attended her first senior elite competition at the American Cup in Jackson Ville, Florida in place of an injured athlete and won all-around.
  • The Americans won ream title in Jesolo, Italy at the city of Jesolo Trophy.
  • At the end of July, Wieber competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , United Kingdom. In qualifications she placed forth behind her teammates Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas meaning that she would not advance to the all-around finals due to the rule limiting participating countries to having a maximum of two competitors in the all-around final. Wieber would still compete in the team final where the american team qualified first.
