We went on ahead to the ship and sailed for Assos, where we were going to take Paul aboard. He made this arrangement because he was goig there on foot.
The day after we crossed over to somos, and the following day arrived at miletus. Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, in a hurry to reach jeruselum by the day of pentacost.
Paul sent Ephesus to the elders of the church. When they arrived he spoke to them. "you know how i lived the whole time i was with you. i served the lord with great humility and with tears. you know that i have not hesitated to preach anything helpful."
"and now i am going back to jerusalem, not knwoing what will happen to be there. however, i consider my life worth nothing to me. my only aim is to finish testifying the news of Gods grace. Keep watch over yourselves. Now i commit you to god and to the word of his grace"
"you yourselvves know that these hands of mine hvae supplied my own needs and the needs on my companions. i showed you that by this kind hard work we must help the weak.
when paul had finished speaking, he knelt down with all of them and began to pray. They all wept as they embraced and kissed him. what grieved them most was his statement that they would neveer see his face again. then they accopanied him to his ship.
