  • The Decline of Feudalism: Magna Carta BY: Madeline Dumler
  • Feudalism, a medieval social structure, started declining because of the Magna Carta.
  • Taxes were getting high because the king was demanding more money. The lords and peasants did not like it.
  • The lords forced the king to sign the Magna Carta, or the great the Great Charter of the Liberties, demanding more rights and less tax.
  • The Magna Carta was put into place and now citizens and lords don´t have to pay as much. Also, peasants have more freedom and rights.
  • This declined feudalism because kings had less and less power. Kings now have to politely ask for money than demand it from lords.
  • Lords obtained power from the Magna Carta because they got more rights and had to pay less.
