As the knights of the round table were feasting for the celebration of Christmas, they saw something strange. A big knight and his horse showed up and they were glowing green. Everyone was confused and he demanded to see the person in charge.
I demand to see the person in charge!
The knight then challenged someone to hit him in the neck with his ax and in one years time that person will have to find the knight and have it done to him. Sir Gawain volunteered to do it.
Gawain swung at him and cut his head clean off. Then the the headless knight picked up his head and rode off on his horse, leaving everyone confused to who this supernatural God was.
I'll see you in one year, Gawain.
Gawain calls for armor to prepare for his journey to find the green knight. Gawain then says goodbye to the court and rides off on Gringolet to find the green knight.
Gawain sets off and on Christmas Eve. He prays to the Virgin Mary to find somewhere to go to Mass. He comes across a big White Castle and is invited in to meet the Lord of the castle and he takes him to a rich chamber and feeds him. He then introduces Gawain to two women.
