Paul Edgecomb- The author explains how he is not like the rest of the guards. He would talk to the prisoners and try to have a sense of humor. But Other characters see him as a person who cares about the people in prison and he is trying to keep in touch with human conversation.
Brutus Howell- The author explains how he is very temperamental. It is difficult for him to contain his anger. But other characters compare him to Paul, but Paul has a more relaxed attitude.
Harry Terwilliger- He is the most responsible but he is not afraid to get into dangerous activities.
Dean Stanton- He's the type of guard to take things too seriously. In Part 1 Chapter 7, when they are talking about the mouse he explains how Brutal could get in trouble for "putting jokes in the visitor book." Since Brutal wanted to call the mouse "Steam boat willy." I think other characters viewed him as stuck up.
Percy Wetmore- The author shows him as being the guy who is basically "untouchable." He can do whatever he wants and walks all over everyone. Other characters do not like him. They don't like him at all due to his attitude towards everyone and where his job title is at.
Hal Moores- Very straight forward with everything he does. He is the warden and isn't afraid to give you the hard honest truth. Paul sees that Hal is worried about his wife but, Paul also knows that Hal still has a job to do with keeping E-Block in check.
