Storyboard Text

  • UGH! I can't do this! The ball is too fast.
  • Kim and Jim are hitting a tennis ball. The ball is staying in motion until acted upon by a force, the racquet.
  • We could instead use a slightly heavier ball so it's not as fast. You will be able to hit it more easily.
  • When Kim misses, the ball rolls to a stop. It does not move since there is no longer a force acting upon it.
  • I still can't do this right! Not even with a ball made for babies. I'M DONE!
  • Kim continues to miss each shot.
  • Hmmm... Who will I play with now? I guess I'll just hit against a wall.
  • Jim suggests to use a ball with a greater mass for slower play, since acceleration is inversely proportional to mass.
  • Even though the pair agree to use a different ball, Kim is still unable to return the ball to Jim. She decides to quit.
  • Now partnerless, Jim ponders what he will do now.
