Seneca Falls Convention
1st Women's College
The typical role being a women during the 1800s was mainly to cook and clean and provide for the men in the family. Their key purpose was to look for a husband, give birth and take care of their husbands through out their entire lives. women were typically scorn if they remained single. Without husbands they really didn't have a purpose.
The Seneca Falls Convention was the first women’s rights convention in the United States. It took place in New York on July 19-20, 1848 During the convention the Declaration of Sentiments was created and signed which started the Women suffrage Movement.
The first women's college was created in 1821. Women's education gave women more opportunities. Women could study many subjects. Between 1821 to 1872 more than 12000 attended Willara's Troy female semintary. Women were finally able to become educated and explore there mental capabilities.
